Your safety is our priority and we constantly check weather, tides and general paddling conditions to ensure you have a fun but a safe time out on the river. Our commercial operation is licensed by the Dart Harbour Authority.

Recently we have been running a lot of one to one or one to two family groups who want to take up kayaking but dont really know where to start. We listen to the couples or family ideas and then plan a half day tuition to suit. Generally it follows a theme of planning your day, understanding weather and tides, reading maps and charts to find paddling locations, then deciding on a trip, what to wear and carry, boats to use or buy in the future.
We then head out onto the river Dart following the route planned, working on paddle strokes and water safety. Find a spot for lunch and then look at towing, rescues before ending up back at the quay for a cuppa! If this sounds like something you would like to arrange please contact Tom or Click here for full Kayak Academy Information
